Pop-Up stores are becoming more than just a passing trend. These days it’s difficult to find a market segment this kind of strategy hasn’t touched. And, the roofing industry is no exception. The Pop-Up industry has grown to nearly 10 billion in sales, according to PopUp Republic . Of course this kind of buying option can be fun for consumers; who of us isn’t motivated by convenience, speed of sale and one-of-a-kind products? No one wants to miss out on a deal! Unfortunately, this trend often doesn’t translate well when it comes to more expensive products, especially ones that could require maintenance over time. Products like roofs.

That’s one of the biggest reasons why many insurance companies and real estate agents alike will urge their customers in need of a new roof or roof repair to shop local. Finding a brick-and-mortar business that is established in the community is worth more than you may think. Sure, the new kiosk, store-front down the street promising a quick sale and cheaper price may seem appealing, but consider the who behind the product you’re buying.

Here are some great ‘who’ questions to ask yourself:

  • Who, exactly, am I buying from? Is this a local family I’m supporting?
  • Who will take care of warranty or repair issues should they arise?
  • Who can you speak to should you have questions in the process? Are you going to be passed around a large company in an impersonal way or is there a direct person you know you can contact, easily?
  • Who will quickly come to my aid in an emergency? Is your emergency their priority?
  • Who is invested in your community? Is the company you’re choosing helping your local town in any way?

At Capstone who we are is just as important, if not more, than what we do. Sure, we believe our company delivers a great product and service to you, our customers. Yes, we’ve got our certifications, taken the classes and have the insurance and endorsements. But, more than that, we’ve got roots. Roots in this community. Born and raised in Stillwater, owner/operator Scott Campbell takes pride in the long-lasting relationships he has with customers and in the reputation he has earned in this industry. With a background in custom building and general contracting, Scott has a wealth of knowledge that gets passed along to each roof Capstone completes.

We know that quality matters to you. You should know it matters to us at Capstone Roofing, too. As a business, we’re invested here. As your neighbor, we aren’t going anywhere.

So, the next time you’re shopping for a roof-or any substantial home improvement project-we’d like to encourage you to consider the who behind the product. Shopping local matters for both the business owner and, we’d argue, for you the consumer.
